ANNOTATION

The motivation for the National Centre of Competence CAMEB is the depletion or thinning of non-renewable natural resources, both material and energy, and the impact of this phenomenon on the construction industry. While the current trend of massive energy savings in building operations is bringing significant improvements in operational energy, the material and energy intensity of construction is increasing rapidly.

CAMEB brings together partners with the competences to find better resource utilisation in construction. Based on life cycle optimisation, we will be able to design better buildings using the principles of the knowledge and circular economy. To do this, we also use modern technologies from the fields of digitisation, optimisation, modelling and efficient process management.

ABOUT CAMEB

The National Centre of Competence CAMEB (Centre for Advanced Materials and Efficient Buildings) was established in 2019 through the cooperation of CTU in Prague, Brno University of Technology and twenty-eight other partners - universities and private companies. The aim was to create a centre where knowledge for innovation in construction is concentrated - in addition to the gradual improvement of existing technologies, materials and processes, we also want to connect construction with other disciplines, especially information technology, cybernetics and process control, in line with general industry trends.

Within the framework of the National Centre of Competence CAMEB, we want to effectively link industry with research and contribute to positive developments in construction and related fields through joint innovations. One of the objectives of CAMEB is to develop direct cooperation between universities and companies on the basis of contract research, i.e. without state support. These are not small sums - the four university departments involved in the CAMEB centre have a combined annual turnover of contract research of €100 million. CZK (to give you an idea, in the whole Czech Republic, direct cooperation between research institutions and industry makes about 950 million CZK). CZK).

CAMEB partners are currently implementing 11 sub-research projects with a total value exceeding CZK 150 million. The direct contributions of partner companies account for CZK 30 million.
